The Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple (Mandir) is a Hindu temple for Lord Shri Ganesh. It is located at Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Temple was originally built by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil on 19 November 1801. It is safe to say, Siddhivinayank Temple is one of the richest temples in India with approx. 400 crores INR or over 50 millions USD (in year 2018).

Originally Siddhivinayak temple was very small with around 3.6 meter square. But it become very big to hold more than 1000 devotees at a time It build with gold plated inner roof. The Siddhivinayak Ganesha idol is quite unique and unusual as it was carved out of a single black stone and has Ganesha’s trunk to the right instead of left.

Siddhivinayak temple is worshipped not by Indian but people around the world who visit to Mumbai (know more about spirit of Bombay), go to this temple. It is famous among Bollywood star, politician and businessman.

The belief is that all work to start with blessing of lord Ganesha. Shree Ganesh is the first to be worshipped before beginning any new project or venture as he is the destroyer of obstacles (Vighnaharta).

How To Get There

By Train

Take a Mumbai to Dadar Station on Central line. From there take a exit towards western line or flower market. Near the flower market, you can find share taxi which charges Rs. 10-20 per person. It is also possible to take private taxis (Mumbai Kali Pili taxi, Uber or Ola). There are bus also which goes to Siddhivinayank Mandir but you need to walk 5~8 mins from station.

Cost

Entrance Fee: No Entrance Fee for Siddhivinayak Mandir darsha, also free shoe racks are available.

However you can buy flower and sweets (Modak) to offer with your prayers, but it’s optional.
