Every travel story begins with a single frame.” (my favourite quote this week)

Hello Hello 👋

We all know that travel and movies go hand-in-hand.

There’s nothing like a good film to transport you to faraway places and ignite your wanderlust.

I often find myself turning to movies for a dose of inspiration like Skyfall or Harry Potter and Scotland Road Trips. Read last week’s LensLetter here.

🚀 Here are 7 other iconic films that will stir your spirit and inspire your next adventure.

⛵ “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” (2013)

This film is a love letter to dreamers and adventurers. Walter Mitty, played by Ben Stiller, escapes his mundane life through vivid daydreams. His real-life journey takes him from New York to Greenland, Iceland, and the Himalayas. The stunning cinematography will make you want to pack your bags and chase your dreams, no matter how far-fetched they may seem.

Through the lens of travel, we see the world anew.

⛵ “Into the Wild” (2007)

Based on a true story, this film follows Christopher McCandless as he leaves his comfortable life behind to explore the wilderness of Alaska.

It’s a powerful tale of freedom, adventure, and self-discovery.

The breathtaking landscapes and raw emotion will make you want to disconnect and find your own path.

⛵ “Before Sunrise” (1995)

This romantic drama captures the magic of spontaneous travel.

Jesse, an American, and Celine, a Frenchwoman, meet on a train and spend a night wandering the streets of Vienna.

The film’s dialogue and picturesque settings remind us of the beauty of connecting with strangers and the serendipity of travel.

7 Movies to Spark Your Next Travel

⛵ “The Motorcycle Diaries” (2004)

This biographical film follows a young Che Guevara and his friend as they embark on a motorcycle journey across South America.

The journey exposes them to the continent’s social injustices and breathtaking beauty.

It’s a moving film that will inspire you to explore new cultures and understand different perspectives.

The best journeys are those that leave you breathless, both in memory and on film.

⛵ “Wild” (2014)

Based on Cheryl Strayed’s memoir, this film portrays her solo hike along the Pacific Crest Trail.

It’s a story of redemption, self-discovery, and the healing power of nature.

Reese Witherspoon’s performance and the stunning Pacific Northwest scenery will motivate you to lace up your hiking boots and hit the trail.

⛵ “Lost in Translation” (2003)

Set in Tokyo, this film follows the unlikely friendship between a faded movie star and a neglected young woman.

The bustling cityscape and moments of quiet reflection highlight the contrast between isolation and connection.

It’s a poignant reminder of the transformative power of travel and the connections we make along the way.

⛵ “Eat Pray Love” (2010)

Elizabeth Gilbert’s journey of self-discovery takes her through Italy, India, and Indonesia.

Each destination offers a unique experience, from indulging in Italian cuisine to finding inner peace in an Indian ashram.

This film is a beautiful portrayal of the healing power of travel and the importance of embracing new experiences.

A camera captures moments; a film captures journeys.

These films are more than just entertainment—they’re gateways to new worlds and catalysts for your next adventure.

So grab some popcorn, get comfortable, and let these cinematic journeys inspire your wanderlust.

🟢 Until the next email, Keep chasing horizons, one frame at a time and let’s be mindful of our environment.

Cheers!!
