“Photography is a love affair with life” (my favourite quote this week)

Hello Hello 👋

As photographers, we’re always on the lookout for tools that make our creative journey smoother and more rewarding.

Well, you’re in for a treat because Adobe Lightroom 13 has some groundbreaking updates that promise to redefine the way you edit and store your photos. Adobe Max 2023 (which happened last week) was completely packed with tons of new AI related features in creative cloud product suite (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, Express etc). Creating and editing art or graphics are becoming much smoother with artificial intelligence.

In today’s letter, let me share key updates in Adobe Lightroom.

Adobe Max 2023 Event

🚀 Latest from Lightroom

Powerful photo editing, easier than ever.

⛵ Lens Blur (early access)

The power to transform your photos with a single tap!

Lens Blur adds an artistic optical blur effect to your images, making them pop with creativity. This feature is available across various Lightroom platforms, from desktop to mobile, and even Adobe Camera Raw. Plus, it uses AI magic to estimate depth maps, giving your photos a natural bokeh effect.

It’s a game-changer for upping your editing skills.

⛵ Faster Mobile Photo Access and Editing

Adobe have streamlined the toolbar in Lightroom for mobile to make your editing process faster and more intuitive.

No more scrolling around to find your tools. With this enhancement, you can now access and edit your photos more efficiently right on your smartphone.

Your editing workflow just got a lot smoother!

⛵ HDR Optimization

Now, you can capture, edit, and export High Dynamic Range (HDR) photos seamlessly in one place.

This means you can create stunning HDR photos, even from single-exposure shots, that mimic real-life perception. And if you have an HDR display, you’re in for a treat with images in greater detail and color fidelity.

Lightroom is staying ahead with new HDR formats for the ultimate image quality.

Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.

⛵ Point Color (most useful)

Get super precise with color adjustments using Point Color.

This feature allows you to target specific colors without affecting the rest of your image. It’s perfect for tasks like adjusting product colors, removing unwanted color casts, or refining skin tones.

It gives you the power to take your color editing to the next level, offering unprecedented control.

⛵ Locally Edit and Store in Lightroom

Now, you’re in charge of your storage options.

Choose to work with photos and videos in Lightroom without mandatory cloud syncing. This means you can access your files directly from your local storage, whether it’s on your computer or an external drive.

Enjoy the freedom to work your way and no need to use cloud at all!

⛵ In addition to these incredible updates, Lightroom brings more to the table:

  • Lightroom Academy: A treasure trove of resources to improve your photography skills and master Lightroom.
  • New Supported File Formats: Lightroom now supports formats like AVIF, DNG, and TFF, emphasizing content authenticity.
  • Discover is now Community: A vibrant hub to share and explore Lightroom edits and presets.
  • Filter Based on Likes and Comments: Quickly find your best-loved photos in shared albums.
  • Search Option in Presets: If you have hundreds of presets save, now you can easily search (guide to install presets here)

The latest features are now available on various Lightroom platforms, so go ahead and experience the magic of the new Lightroom yourself. Dive into your creative world and let your imagination soar!

Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures. – Don McCullin

🟢 Until the next email, keep capturing the beauty of the world, one frame at a time and let’s be mindful of our environment.

Cheers!!
