“Travel far, travel wide, and travel often” (my favourite quote this week)
Hello Hello 👋
Festive and holiday season are just around the corner. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably got exciting travel plans lined up to visit family, friends, or planned new adventures.
But here’s the thing about holiday travel – it’s often jam-packed with activities. As soon as you arrive, you’re hitting the road, heading to the ski slopes, gearing up for an early morning hike, or chasing that perfect sunrise for your photography.
There’s hardly a moment to spare for jet lag or travel fatigue.

🚀 In this week’s letter, I’m thrilled to share some invaluable tips on how you can swiftly overcome jet lag, ensuring that your travels are energized and brimming with memorable experiences.
⛵ Understanding the Jet Lag Beast
First, let’s understand what’s going on in your body. Jet lag is your body’s confused response to rapidly crossing multiple time zones. It affects your internal body clock, making you feel sleepy during the day and wide awake at 3 a.m. It’s like your body’s a clock that’s been thrown out of sync.
⛵ Preparation is Key
Before you even board that plane, there are some steps you can take to ease the jet lag burden. Start by gradually adjusting your sleeping schedule a few days before you travel. This can help your body start adapting to the time zone of your destination.
⛵ Stay Hydrated and Ditch the Booze
During your flight, it’s crucial to stay well-hydrated. Airplane cabins are notorious for drying out your skin and body. Avoid excessive caffeine and alcohol as they can dehydrate you and worsen the effects of jet lag.
⛵ Get Moving and Stay Awake
Once you arrive at your destination, resist the temptation to nap. Instead, get outside and soak up that natural daylight. Daylight helps reset your body clock. Taking a leisurely walk or doing some light exercise can work wonders.
⛵ Adjust Your Schedule
Adapting to local time as soon as possible is key. Try to eat and sleep according to the local schedule, even if it means pushing through some initial fatigue. It helps your body sync up with the new time zone more rapidly.
⛵ Melatonin Magic
Melatonin, a hormone naturally produced by your body, can be a secret weapon. It’s available over-the-counter and can help regulate your sleep patterns. But remember, it’s always a good idea to consult a healthcare professional before using any new supplement.

⛵ Stay Positive
Your mindset can make a huge difference. Stay positive and patient. Understand that jet lag is a part of the adventure, and you’ll overcome it.
⛵ The 48-Hour Rule
It often takes about a day for your body to adjust for each time zone you’ve crossed. So, if you’ve traveled through eight time zones, give it about a week. You should start feeling normal again after a couple of days.
So, next time you find yourself in a battle against jet lag, remember these tips.
🟢 Until the next email, keep capturing the beauty of the world, one frame at a time and let’s be mindful of our environment.
Cheers!!
