“Exploration is the essence of discovery.” (my favourite quote this week)

Hello Hello 👋

After R54 letter “Overcome Photography Sharing Worries”, I got few response that mainstream social media are more towards video now. So, I thought to share my thoughts on this topic.

Yes, In a world dominated by Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, it’s easy to feel pressured to share your photos on these mainstream platforms.

But guess what? You don’t have to follow the crowd.

In fact, there are plenty of lesser-known or non-glamours platforms where you can share your work and connect with like-minded individuals.

Photography is the art of freezing a moment in time and making it last forever.

🚀 Let’s explore some of these hidden gems together.

⛵ Your Own Family Whatsapp Group or Status

Start close to home by sharing your photos with your family on WhatsApp. Whether it’s the family group chat or your status updates, it’s a simple yet effective way to showcase your latest shots and receive instant feedback from your loved ones.

⛵ 500px: A Photography Community with Licensing Options

If you’re looking for a dedicated photography community, look no further than 500px. With millions of users worldwide, it’s a great place to share your work, discover inspiring content, and even license your photos for commercial use.

A photograph captures not just an image, but a story waiting to be told.

⛵ Twitter/X: Microblogging with Visual Flair

Don’t underestimate the power of Twitter/X when it comes to sharing your photos. With its large user base and emphasis on visual content, Twitter/X is a fantastic platform to showcase your photography skills and engage with a diverse audience.

⛵ Vero: Ad-Free and Algorithm-Free Sharing

Tired of algorithms and ads? Give Vero a try. This ad-free platform prioritizes user experience and offers a refreshing alternative to mainstream social media. Plus, with no algorithms in sight, your photos are more likely to reach your intended audience.

⛵ Your Office Teams Group or Slack Channel

If you’re part of a work team or community on platforms like Microsoft Teams or Slack, why not share your photos there? It’s a great way to add a personal touch to your professional conversations and showcase your creativity outside of your usual photography circles.

Printing turns pixels into poetry, transforming digital moments into tangible treasures.

⛵ Adobe Portfolio or Behance for Creative Professionals

If you’re subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud, take advantage of Adobe Portfolio or Behance to create a stunning online portfolio. Showcase your best work, connect with other creatives, and even attract potential clients or collaborators.

⛵ Your Own Photo Website: Your Personal Showcase

Take full control of your online presence by creating your own photo website. Whether you’re a hobbyist or a professional photographer, having a dedicated website allows you to curate your portfolio, tell your story, and build your brand.

⛵ Printed Books: Timeless Treasures for Your Coffee Table

There is nothing better than printing your own photo in the digital age. Compile your favorite photos into a beautifully printed book and proudly display it on your coffee table. It’s a tangible reminder of your creative journey and a conversation starter for guests.

In a world of screens, printed photos are like windows to the soul.

Remember, sharing your photos should be a reflection of your passion and creativity, not just a numbers game on social media. Explore these alternative platforms, find your niche, and connect with a community that appreciates your unique perspective.

🟢 Until the next email, Keep chasing horizons, one frame at a time and let’s be mindful of our environment.

Cheers!!
