Cherry Blossom in Japan are one of best time to celebrate along with nature. You will be mesmerised by beauty of sakura trees. It happens across Japan but known places like Sapporo, Kyoto, Tokyo, Mito etc. Here I listed top cherry blossom spots in Tsuchiura, Ibaraki.

This sakura bloom happens every year by end of march to mid of may, however it varies with places to place but usually last for 3 weeks to 4 weeks. Over the course of a few weeks, cherry trees (sakura trees) across the country burst into bloom, painting the country in shades of pink and white.

It’s become a national obsession with growing global appeal and above all contributing to Japan’s economy. An estimated 63 million people travel to and within Japan to view the bloom, spending around $2.7 billion (301 billion yen) in the process, according to an analysis from Kansai University. However Tokyo   always see more visitor compare to other cities, Tokyo Cherry Blossom and Hanami Festival are famous among Japanese as well as foreigners.

Top Cherry Blossom Spots in Tsuchiura Ibaraki

During Cheery Blossom season, Sakura trees loaded with flowers and place crowed with people. Still, it is worth visiting because of weather, photogenic beauty. It is one of favourite season for Japan landscape photographer.

1. Kijo Park

A park containing the Hon-maru (castle keep) and Nino-maru (surrounding castle walls). The East and West Turrets have been restored. The gate to the turrets re-mains intact and is the only turret gate in the Hon-maru (castle keep) to remain standing in the Kanto region. There are lots of sakura trees near and inside the castle.

2. Kasumigaura Park

This park is near Lake Kasumigaura, more famous of sakura illumination (lighting in shape of flower) and tulip flowers. However, there are Sakura trees around the corner of park and just near lake.

3. Near Sakuragawa River

More than 400 cherry trees are planted along the road from the river mouth on Lake Kasumigaura to Mushikake. Under the spring sunshine, strolling along the riverbank to the sound of the water is relaxing. Therefore, you will always find people with bike or sports shoes. It is best place for jogging, walking or cycling.

4. Near Shinkawa River (Shinkawa Sakura Street)

The trees are planted along both sides of this narrow river. When they are in full bloom, the branches covers the river and touch down over the river surface, making a fantastic tunnel of cherry blossoms with their beautiful reflection on the water.

5. Near Port of Tsuchiura

This riverside also used as Tsuchiura Boat Dock and populated fishing bay in Tsuchiura. Here, tourist can also enjoy 45-minutes ride, food on boat.
