Malshej Ghat is a mountain pass in the same Western Ghats running in Maharashtra, India. It lies at an elevation of 700 meters and is situated in Pune district near the borders of Thane and Ahmednagar districts. The ghat lies 130 km north of Pune and 120 km from Mumbai Malshej Ghat is home to hundreds of different kinds of flora and fauna like quails, rails, cranes, flamingos, and cuckoos.

What is best time to visit Malshej Ghat?

You might hear that the best time to visit Malshej Ghat is Monsoon. Now, I can say with my experience, it is 100% true. We did a 1-day road trip from Mumbai to Malshej Ghat, Shivneri Fort and Naneghat. It was such an awesome experience when I felt journey matters more than the destination. During monsoon time, you will see not thousands but hundreds of small and big waterfalls.

The day when we went to Malshej Ghat, it was raining very heavily in Mumbai (kind of red alert warning), so it was not so good condition for DSLR photography, still I tried few long exposure shots of waterfall (you can find in my Instagram), but with waterproof feature iPhone XR, I tested and took so many videos and photos in this rainy condition.

I would definitely recommend to visit any of Western Ghat in monsoon and by road (car or bike) and enjoy the ride as NH-222 road is also  anso good scenic. There are places to see as Malshej falls, Pimpalgaon Joga Dam, Ajoba Hill Fort & Shivnari fort and don’t forget to try Maggi & Chai.

Pack your bags, leave the world behind. Let the clouds show you the trail and in no time you will find yourself surrounded by a million waterfalls and Feel The Nature.

How to Reach From Mumbai Or Pune?

I am sharing location in Google Maps, where you can just change to your location and start your ride.
